City Ring
This project City Ring removed jewellery from the gallery, the glass cabinet and ultimately the body and placed it in the public arena creating a series of site specific works.
I identified a series of locations around my local city precinct, in, around and on top of buildings, in laneways & arcades. Within these locations I identified existing holes created by existing structures; pipes, drill holes, gaps, grates etc, holes that relate to the scale of the human body, specifically the finger.

On the job on top of the Nicholas Building, Melbourne
The series of gold and silver rings were constructed to fit within the spaces, creating a piece of jewellery in an unconventional context and location. The intention was to create a trail of gold and silver rings in the urban community that members of the public could seek out, discover and wear for the moment.

Rings prior to installation-sterling silver ‘Nut Ring and “Telescopic Ring’
Sterling silver ‘Nut Ring’ in situ. The cental tube protruded thru’ to the rear of the rusty frame just enough for the edges to be burnished and set the ring in place.

’Woodgrain ring’-18ct yellow gold, sterling silver
‘Woodgrain ring’-this was constructed with steel spikes soldered to the rear that were hammered into timber.
